If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my 15+ years of helping local businesses grow, it’s this:
Visibility isn’t optional. It’s essential.
But long before I was teaching businesses how to be seen, found, and chosen, I was a girl with a camera who simply loved capturing real stories and before that...an accountant of all things. What started as a leap of faith in 2009 has now grown into
Mazter Mindz Media, a full-scale marketing and photography agency serving the Bloomington-Normal area and beyond.
I still get just as excited picking up my camera today as I did the very first time.
From Accounting to a Camera: My Leap of Faith
Before photography became my career, I spent years working in the corporate world:
- Kraft Foods
- Country Financial
- Nestlé
And while I was grateful for the experience, there was always a part of me that needed something more creative… something that felt like me. In 2009, I walked away from accounting and walked straight into photography.
I didn’t know exactly where it would lead but I knew accounting was not the right fit.
I spent six years photographing newborns for Bella Baby Photography, capturing hundreds of little faces and thousands of special moments. I photographed families, seniors, athletes, business owners, events, and everything in between.
And then something unexpected happened…
The Marketing World Called and It Changed Everything
In 2017, I found an opportunity with Best Version Media (BVM) that allowed me to blend everything I love:

✔ photography
✔ community
✔ business growth
✔ flexible schedule
I launched my first magazine,
Neighbors of Southwestern Bloomington, followed by
B-N Sports (last issue March 2025 before merging with my two neighborhood ones as a sports section),
North Eastside Neighbors, and later rebranded Southwest to what it is today:
Neighbors of Southern Bloomington.
But all that was becoming a mouthful and it didn’t reflect the full spectrum of what I was doing. So I created
Mazter Mindz Media.
This became the umbrella for:
Mazter Mindz Media is more than a business, it’s a mission:
helping local businesses become visible, credible, and unforgettable.
